Pet Socialization
Spend time socializing with our animals! Walk a dog, play fetch in the outdoor runs, play in our meet and greet rooms, or just sit and enjoy feline company in our cat room.
Pet Grooming
Help keep our cats and dogs looking good and smelling fresh. Brushing both cats and dogs and bathing dogs helps keep the pets looking good for potential adopters, and it helps keep them more comfortable!
Cleaning Our Facilities
We have lots of animals in our care, and they all require daily cleaning of their kennels. You can help us clean our cat room, clean dog kennels, sweep and mop floors, do dishes, and much more to assist with our daily routine to help keep the animals safe and healthy.
Laundry
Wash, dry, and fold our towels, blankets, and other items used to keep our animals warm and dry in their kennels! Our washer and dryer run most of the day, so there’s always something to fold or put away.
Help With Events
If cleaning isn’t really what interests you about volunteering, consider helping out with shelter events and community promotions! We are affiliated with a handful of events around the community each year, and we are always looking for volunteers to help set up, interact with patrons, and help sell merchandise or collect donations to help fund care for our animals.
Outdoor Maintenance
Are you more interested in working outside? We have plenty of opportunities for volunteers to help with outdoor upkeep. Pulling weeds, trimming bushes, and mowing our grass runs are just a few options for outdoor assistance that allows staff and other volunteers to spend even more time with the animals.
VCHS Thrift Store
Do you like to sort and organize? By volunteering at our Thrift Store in Franklin, you can help with just that! Sorting donations and putting them out on the shelf takes a lot of time, and help is always welcome to make the process go a little quicker. All proceeds from our Thrift Store sales go right back to help with care for the animals.
